Hoping to improve your home? Do you want to renovate your house to give it some more oomph and luxury?

Getting the resources to build your dream home isn’t easy so you’ll want to allocate every penny to something worthwhile.

We’ve got 15 great ideas right here you should consider adding to your dream home wish list. These not only help raise the value of your home but they can make it the best place to live in!

Read on below to discover all the home additions you need:

  1. Outdoor Oasis

Got enough space outside your home?

You can’t complete a home wish list without mentioning an outdoor oasis! Use the space you have to build an outdoor lounge with a fire pit and grill.

  1. Dedicated Game Room

Game rooms give adults space to have fun without making a mess of the rest of the house. You can fill game rooms with any sort of hobby activities and objects. People can dedicate them to video games, billiards, darts, and tabletop games.

  1. Walk-In Dressing Room

Dressing rooms already seem like luxurious additions to a home but if you’re going to dream then dream big.

Walk-in dressing rooms boast large space, giving you enough room to walk around and admire yourself in front of multiple mirrors. You can even add a vanity mirror and dresser for make-up and hair sessions.

  1. Home Theater

Every dream home needs an impressive home theater.

The good news is technology has gotten to a point where home theaters can rival commercial ones. You can get 4K Ultra HD television sets now and theater-like sound systems with 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound.

Some say a home setup can deliver better sound and image quality compared to a commercial theater! Only IMAX theaters have the advantage nowadays.

  1. A Grand Pantry

The pantry might seem like the least valuable portion of a home but they’re not. Storing dry food and ingredients is a crucial factor for homeowners, especially those who value cooking and consider their kitchen as a holy shrine.

A grand pantry can come in two flavors: a walk-in pantry or luxury shelves that slide out of the wall.

  1. Luxury Laundry Room

Yes, a laundry room can make your home shine even brighter. It’s all about adding a touch of luxury.

A simple lounge within the laundry room is a good start. Upgrade your tiles for the wet area and add wood cabinets for laundry and cleaning materials.

  1. Expanded Kitchen

One of the best home remodeling ideas is to make a kitchen even bigger. Other than the bedroom and lounge, the kitchen is the most important room in the house. It’s where you do all the cooking and preparing, after all.

  1. Adding an Outdoor Deck

Can’t add an outdoor oasis? Don’t have space for a project that large?

That’s fine, you can always opt for a deck addition instead. A wood deck adds value to your home, gives you lounging space outdoors, and it looks beautiful too. Fortunately, it’s less expensive than an oasis and it might take less time to add.

  1. Sunken Swimming Pool Lounge

If you’re getting a pool for your dream home, make sure you add a sunken lounge to it. Throw in a few pillows and a fire pit in the middle and it can become your go-to corner when hanging out with friends and family.

  1. Dedicated Study

A study might not add monetary value to your home but it can work wonders for those with kids or who work at home. It’s not a home-office but it can become a place filled with bookshelves, reading areas, and a table or two for writing.

If you want to go a little old-school with your ideal home, then consider adding a fireplace.

  1. Garage Bar

Your garage has one important role: keeping your vehicle safe. However, if there’s extra space left, you should consider adding a dedicated bar. Who wouldn’t want a nice cold drink after a few hours on the road?

Garage bars don’t raise a home’s value by much but many consider them as amazing additions nonetheless.

  1. Double Island for the Kitchen

Expanding your kitchen isn’t enough!

If the main kitchen has enough space, you could improve a home even further by adding another island. Put them together and you can add some utility to them.

For example, you could add a sink on one island and use the other one for dining or food preparation. Both islands could come with cupboards underneath for additional storage too.

  1. Children’s Playroom

Every wishlist for a gorgeous dream house should include a playroom. Similar to an adult’s game room, this type of addition is solely to give kids space to play and make a mess.

That said, you need to consider some safety features given that kids will spend time here. You might want to add kid fences, padded mats for the floor, and to cover sharp table edges with foam.

  1. Extra Bathroom

If you want to prioritize functionality over form then you shouldn’t dismiss the thought of adding a bathroom. The more rooms you have, the better it is to get more bathrooms. Four rooms can house over 10 people and it can get chaotic if they all have to share one or two bathrooms.

Add one or more to not only make your home luxurious but to cater to the increasing demands of having more guests.

  1. Sunroom

Sunrooms don’t offer the best results when it comes to energy efficiency or supplying more heat. However, if you own a home in a place like Florida, where homes with sunrooms are pretty much common, then having one makes your property more competitive in the market.

Even though they don’t add much to your home’s value, they can make it seem more luxurious and extravagant. Who wouldn’t want one in their dream house?
