Thankfully, there are a number of different design software that can help you decide what exactly you want from your garage.

Some design software are more intuitive than others, whereas some might cost more to use. Finding the perfect software depends on what your priorities are when it comes to designing your very own home for your cars.

Without further ado lets see our collection of the top garage software (either free or paid) that will help you get the job done.

1) CAD Pro

In many ways, choosing a program that many people love and support is a great way to find the best program.

If plenty of people appreciate what the program has to offer, then there is a good chance that it is well worth the money.

CAD Pro allows you to design and plan out a detached garage, and in the paid package, you can also get some predesigned plans to help you get started.

You can also share your files with a number of different formats.

2) Sketchup Free

Of course, not everyone wants to pay exorbitant amounts of money for a design program that might be used for one project, two at most.

If you are looking for a program that is free of charge, then Sketchup Free is probably going to be the best option for you.

Sketchup is well-known for being one of the most popular free design programs around, so you can expect to get some quality work done with this program. You will also have about 10GB of cloud storage to use, if you are planning on collaborating with anyone.

3) Edgenet

If you are planning to rely on a home supplies store to provide the products you need to build your own garage, then you are definitely going to want to make sure that whatever software you are using has those products.

Simply put, using a design program offered by a home supply store, such as Home Depot, ensures that you will be able to get just about all the materials you need from that one place.

For DIY projects, using such a program can cut down on useless trips all around town. Even if you aren’t planning on going to this particular store, free programs are often much more convenient than the ones you pay for.

4) Big Hammer

Sometimes, people might want to design their own garage, but might not be the best at actual design. This is where programs such as Big Hammer come into play.

If you are not entirely used to design software, you might find that Big Hammer offers the guides that you need to successfully design your own garage.

This free program offers a number of features that you might not be able to find in other places, such as an estimate of what the materials would cost.

5) Menards

Not many people particularly enjoy downloading programs to design their garage with, let alone paying for a separate software package.

Being able to design your garage on a website makes things so much easier for you, and anyone else you are doing the planning with.

Thankfully, Menards has an option for you. Now, you can design your perfect garage without ever having to leave the comfort of your browser.

This site also has an option for you to estimate the price of the garage as well, which can make budgeting much easier for you.

6) Home Designer Software

It goes without saying that having a step-by-step guide to creating a garage is something that many people can appreciate.

If you do not know where to start when it comes to designing a garage, you might find that Home Designer Software’s easy-to-use interface makes everything, well, just a little bit easier to use.

If you want to be able to design your own garage in a quick and timely manner, you might want to consider this program.

7) Easy Garage Storage

While many people can appreciate being able to design their own garage, some people might find that they simply do not have the time, aptitude, or patience to try and design an entire garage.

After all, you have to consider the type of garage you want, the materials for the cabinets, and any accessories that you could benefit from.

However, with this being said, Easy Garage Storage not only allows you to design a garage yourself, but you could also get in touch with their professionals and let them design a garage storage system for you.

8) Floor Planner

Sometimes, you can appreciate the versatility that a 3D floor plan offers, but there might be times when you would much rather view things through a 2D eye.

There might even be times where you are used to using 2D, but would prefer a 3D visualization of the garage you are planning.

Thankfully, Floor Planner offers both 2D and 3D options for you. You can work out the floor plan of your garage, and then in the 3D builder, you can begin building the garage from the ground up.

This site also has an auto-furnish option, allowing you to automatically furnish your garage’s design.

Planning and designing the area to build your garage or to place your portable carport is also an important aspect of design tools. This one can help in this respect as well.

9) DraftSight

3ds

Many people can also appreciate a program that is constantly being updated with features that customers and users want.

DraftSight often comes out with new and different versions of their program for different years, with each newer version having features that people have been asking for.

If you are willing to pay for your garage design software and you value the latest in design technology, then you will definitely want to see what DraftSight has to offer.

If you are less keen on paying for a program without knowing what it offers, DraftSight does offer a 30-day free trial version.

10) Room Sketcher

Last, but certainly not least, there is Room Sketcher. This program combines several different features of other programs.

For one, it allows you to create your own floor plans, or rely on the experts to do the work for you. If you would rather, you can also purchase floor plan services.

The intuitive design allows you to quite literally drag and drop items onto the plan, allowing you to create the garage of your dreams with the swipe of the finger.
