With our list of garage door ideas you’ll be able to find a cool style that will fit the personality of your home while also providing the protection you need.

Most modern houses typically have a garage that can accommodate one or two cars, although some larger homes have room for three and more cars, which could come in handy if your family owns a more extensive car collection.

Whatever its size, the garage can be attached to the main body of the house, or altogether detached. Although there are certain pros and cons to both options, most homeowners will agree that an attached garage is more convenient, as it has direct access to the inside of the house.

Whatever type of garage you have on your lot, one thing is for sure – you would want to have its exterior designed in a way that completes the architectural design of your house.

This means you would want to use matching materials, colors and decorative details. You should also consider your garage door choice – you can choose between regular hinged doors, swing up or roll up doors, or sliding panels.

All these can be designed in a number of ways to give them a clean modern look or a more classic appeal. Moreover, if you are in the process of buying or installing a garage door, homebuilding.co.uk has an excellent guide here.

Have a look at our collection of garage door design ideas and see what you will like.

3-car garage with wood doors

This is another house with a garage that can accommodate three cars. Instead of having three equally-sized doors, here we have two different types of doors – one is a regular door for a one-car garage, while the other one is twice that size.

wooden garage doors

Wooden doors have always been a great match for a brick-laid exterior. They are a great choice not only for your main entrance, but also for your garage. Be sure to also add some beautiful hardware to the mix and you are all set!

dark-colored doors for your garage

Garage doors don’t necessarily have to be one-colored. Here, for example, we have a beautiful pair of dark-colored garage doors with a little bit of white around the windows. It’s surprising what a difference such a small detail can make.

garage door with bright red color

If you are the adventurous type of person, then you may like this extravagant design idea. A bright red garage door can be the cherry on the cake that will make your house the most remarkable one in your neighborhood.

black garage doors

If you can’t handle too much color on your house facade, then take a look at this image – a stone-clad exterior with a dark-grey shingle roof and black garage doors. Isn’t that just pure elegance?

double garage design

Here is another approach to a double garage design. Instead of having two separate doors, you can go with a single larger one. Naturally, it’s best to make it a roll up type of door since the opening would be too big for regular swing out panel doors.

golden yellow garage doors

Neutral color schemes are an all-time favorite, but sometimes we all want to see more color in our designs. Add a summer feel to your garage exterior by painting your doors in golden yellow. This will surely warm your heart.

large 3 car garage

If you have a large family and lots of cars, then you may like this three-car garage. The front facade is fitted with two different-sized roll up doors – a large one for a double garage, and a small one for a regular one-car garage to the side.

We just had our garage built for our new house and were finally ready to choose garage doors. Wood and stone do match nicely so I think a wood design would be perfect to give my home a more natural aesthetic. I hope they can install the exact same design as on this website.
