Transform Your Home With Fantastic Door Designs

Written By Glenn Prescot

Although much thought is given to the exterior of a home’s doors, the interior doors are an often overlooked area of the home. However, you can find great DIY projects to use that can help to transform one or more rooms in your home.

Although the doors inside of your home are functional, they certainly don’t have to look that way! Instead, you can peruse the options of decorative patterns and color schemes that go well with the rooms in your home.

Rather than having a boring entryway, you can have a gorgeous, eye-catching design that will add character to the entire home.

Your home decor should really say something about your personality and how you like to live your life. The creative freedom that you have with a few cans of paint and the right applications is virtually endless.

Whether the walls in your home take advantage of the beautiful wallpapers on the market today or have been painted with modern colors, your doors and frames are the perfect location for enhancing the existing look.

Most interior doors come in stock colors, including plain browns and whites, that are left “as-is” once installed. Owners and guests alike rarely give much thought as they yawn when passing by.

But, you don’t have to stay stuck in that boring boat. Spend some time investigating your options and invest in the best products and plans that you can afford and have the ability to fulfill. No more lackluster doors for you!

The sky’s the limit when you start searching for interior door decorating designs. This collection of artistic ideas is a great way to begin your brainstorming for transforming your own place.

You might be surprised at the unique ways that various door styles can be incorporated into virtually any home. For instance, sliding and folding doors are a unique way to get creative with your decor. On the other hand, even a fresh coat or two of paint in a bold and sassy color can brighten the entire room!

One of the great things about door treatments is that they can be used for homes old and new to boost the entire interior design and update the decor.

Neutral colors are fabulous choices if you don’t want to go overboard with color, and they can add a touch of class to the room as well.

Although the concept of an open floor plan has been getting a lot of attention in recent years, doors are still a necessary part of the home. Check out these interior door design options:

Bring Barn Doors Inside

While thoughts of barn doors might remind you of an old farm from your childhood, they are gaining popularity as a design element in suburban and urban homes as well.

These sliding doors easily incorporate into a rustic decor, but can easily be converted to match a modern decor. Depending on where you place them, these could be the focal point of the room! You can choose from a variety of woods to ensure your satisfaction.

Rolling Back The Years

You can find antique and vintage designs from salvage shops, second hand stores and contractors who don’t need them. With a bit of TLC, you can add texture and visual interest to the room.

Get Glassy

One of the great things about modern architecture and interior design is that the rules have opened, allowing for more materials to be incorporated into one home.

Skip the plain white doors that your neighbor has, and add tempered glass doors to your home. The light that enters through these doors can brighten up the entire space, particularly if one room receives minimal outdoor lighting.

Shake It Up

Don’t be afraid to try some new elements and to combine them in funky new ways. While wallpaper and paint are the first two design mediums that come to mind, why not add some coordinating fabric, real leather or even strategically placed metal studs. You will be amazed at the combination choices before you.

Make Something Old New Again

Especially with rustic and country decor, reclaimed wood can be beautifully repurposed with other decor styles as well.

Musical Inspiration

Just like the instrument, accordion doors fold in on themselves and require less storage space than some other doors.

No matter what type of interior door designs you choose, have a Houston locksmith service assess the safety of your home and guide you for improving your current system.

Using glass more often when installing home doors sounds like an exciting idea. This way, our house can look and feel a lot more open to both us and any guests who stop to visit. I’ll work with a door expert right away so we can get models like these installed.
