5 Ideas for Metal Home Decor

Installing a metal artwork can seem like a step out of your comfort zone, but that is how it is with every change. What is great about metal is that you can customize it to suit your preferences, or even make something by yourself and turn it into a fun DIY project. Let’s take a look at some ideas that could inspire you.

Metal Picture Frames

metal frames

Whether you are into vintage or minimal aesthetics, picture frames could be a great way to play with your wall decor.

Also, they do not necessarily have to have pictures. Hang them empty, and you will be surprised how good and aesthetically pleasing they can look, and do not try to arrange them to be perfectly symmetrical. Asymmetric looks better.

Metal Sculptures

metal sculptures

For a long time, people were struggling to use sculptures as decorations in their homes. And it is really not something you see in every house, which just makes it even better.

People usually start with smaller sculptures, like figurines, but if you are bold and willing to experiment, opt for a large scale abstract sculpture.

Depending on the metal, pay attention to lighting so that it complements the material and its texture.

Metal Signs and Writings

signs

Signs are an excellent option for everyone who is looking for something that is fully customizable. You can order a sign that carries your family’s surname, your children’s names, inspiring quotes, messages, etc.

Options are literally endless. Also, these signs are great to hang them on a wall above your bed, or you can display them on your shelves, depending on the size and your inspiration.

Metal Shelves

shelves

If you do not fancy abstract sculptures or other items that only serve the aesthetics, you can find objects that are functional and still look like beautiful artwork, and metal furniture is a great way to do that.

Custom made shelves are great for starters, but you can also find beautiful coffee tables and other pieces of furniture.

Shelves are easy to make, and a good welder can make everything from sleek and minimal to more complicated such as wrought iron.

Metal DIY Projects

When it comes to this, it all depends on what you already have or the material you can find, but your options are endless.

Depending on the tools you have and use, you can even create your own sculptures, shelves, etc., but the easiest thing to do is to find a new purpose to something you no longer use.

An old metal watering can or a cheese grinder can be turned into a flower pot for the kitchen, or you can use wire to create a note board, etc. This is a great option if you are on a budget, but still want to refresh your place.

Choosing the Right Metal

Metallic artworks are not all gray and rusty, although some prefer that vintage and shabby chic appearance.

It seems that right now, copper and brass and bronze are the most popular, whether they come with a shiny or matte finish.

But you can also find gold, black, and all shades of gray. Pay attention to the texture of the surface as well. Although the majority does not dare to mix different colors of metal if you want to experiment, feel free to do so.

For whatever option you go for, it is hard to go wrong. Any metal color blends in so well with other materials and colors in our homes, which is why they are so versatile and popular.

From the kitchen to the bedroom, they will add that something special to every place and make your home look more chic and modern.

Metal Artworks and Interior Design

All of our recommendations are versatile and suitable for customization so that they could fit into every interior design.

You do not have to be a certified designer to play with the style of your home, so feel free to change things and experiment.

If you are not sure that metals are the right choice for you, start with smaller objects, and then gradually increase the presence of metals in your home.

I am crazy about metal artworks, and I feel it adds a lot of zing to the entire home. The lampstands, flower vase stands, picture frames and art frames as wall hangers are a few metal art I have at home. The home is beautiful, and I have got plenty of ideas from them. At brooklynz, where I work, we have a set of guidelines to follow when we undertake renovations
