Best Colors for Painting and Decorating your Home

Written By Glenn Prescot

As the years pass by, more and more color shades are discovered and this naturally fills us with satisfaction because the color is in our lives and we want to see it renewed constantly.

Last year, grey-beige dynamically emerged as a great color in the decoration of our house. This year, along with other color shades, such as beige, gray, green and khaki, they are here to dominate the home decoration arena.

Some call them shades of dried herbs while others (purists) call these colors earthy. Whichever way we call them, the important thing is that this year the following five colors and their combinations are here to stay.

Table of Contents

    • Pale khaki
    • Gray-Beige
    • Minimalist
    • Beige
    • Green
    • Gray
    • Gray, beige, white combined
    • Combination of color textures

The soft khaki is one of the strongest colors you will see this year in the decoration of houses. We love to see it dominate the walls.

Extra tip: Also, this color looks great in kitchens because it fits with the inox present in several kitchen devices as well as with the wooden furniture and decorations. You can use dried herbs to enhance the decor of your kitchen on these shades.

Gray-Beige

Gray-Beige is a mix of gray and beige and is a new color that drives people crazy recently and seems to have already dominated many homes. This color suits both bedrooms and living rooms. It is a color that can easily “dress” your entire home.

Minimalist

All color shades of dried herbs have an advantage. They fit a lot in minimalist decoration which we like very much. For example take a look at the kitchen above. The walls are painted in pale gray tones, the decor is minimalist and yet the space shows full.

Beige

The beige, which is in fashion this year, has nothing to do with the beige color which was in vogue a few years ago. This year is dominated by soft beige and beige approaching other shades, such as those of gray or green.

Green

This is a color that, although it is quite intense, is very relaxing and succeeds in calming the mind and senses. It is perhaps one of the most optimistic colors in decoration and this year you will see it dominate many homes. Even if you don’t include it in your home decor you can add beautiful plants and flowers in your home that will add some of this color’s optimism.

Gray

gray

There is no “hotter” color shade this year than gray! After the movie “50 shades of gray”, this color has gained many fans. We love to see it in the bedroom but also in other areas of the house. Play with its nuances by creating a rainbow of gray shades.

Gray, beige, white combined

These three colors may be completely neutral but combined together they give an extensive and very sophisticated effect to the living room or the bedroom. Try to combine them and you will not regret it.

Combination of color textures

If you want your space to look more warm and full, you can select a combination of the above colors as well as a combination of materials and textures. For example, some gray plush pillows on your bed will achieve the desired cozy result you want.

As you saw all these color shades are great for decorating your home and are great to transform your home that will be both classy and modern, warm and full!
