1. Modern

Modern design comes from the 20th century. The origin is German and Scandinavian design. It was too popular during that century, but nowadays it continues to be one of the favorite design styles.

Modern design is associated with simplicity. The materials that are highly used in this style are glass, metal, and steel. The main color in modern design is gray and often it is combined with other soft colors, such as green, purple, yellow, blue, etc. Accessories have their main role in modern design. The most used items are vases, candles, mirrors, and pillows.

2. Contemporary

Sometimes, many people think that modern and contemporary styles are the same. This approach is not right, but the difference between these two is not too much. This style is associated with curved lines, neutral colors, and minimalism.

3. Minimalist

In the minimalist design style, people use not more than two colors. The most used color combinations are black and white or black and gray. In the case of the minimalist design style, people use only necessary items as decor.

4. Industrial

Industrial design style combines old and modern elements. The most used material is wood. Nowadays, it is very popular in the world and many people prefer to use this style in their office and summer house.

5. Traditional

It is one of the most preferred styles in interior design. It comes from the 19th century and associated with elegance and comfort. Many colors in this style are dark and the most used material is wood. Accessories play a very important role in traditional design and they need to be chosen very carefully because the wrong choice can have a negative influence on design.

6. Rustic

Wood and stone are inseparable parts of this style. If you want to find one word that can describe this style, it can be “Natural”.  In rustic design, the most preferred colors are Rockwood red, gray, creamy and soft violet.

The most used elements of rustic design are wide plank wood floors, welcoming fireplaces, non-painted wood, white walls, and non-shiny metal.

The most interesting part of rustic design is that often the decorations are handmade and recycled. It contains also some natural things; such as leaves or flowers. So, if you want to be near to nature, it means that your favorite design style is rustic.

7. Victorian

This style is luxurious and expensive, but the quality is also very high. It combines a lot of accessories, different colors, and shapes, such as flowers, plants, etc.

The Victorian design style is full of decorations. In this design style, walls can be covered with paintings and frames. The most preferred colors in this style are red and green, but it is not limited to these two colors. In this style, people use a lot of colors and sometimes, it is too hard to understand what colors can be well-combined, that is why often designers come to help to choose the best color palette.

Nowadays, in Nevada for example, the most popular design style is Victorian.

And in the end, it is important to say that the home design will correspond to the person’s personality.
