Expand the kitchen and opt for an open layout:

The first thing, you will need to do in the remodeling process is to expand the kitchen. A great way to do so is to get rid of the walls of the kitchen, and make it an open kitchen.

open kitchen plan

Open kitchens are a common feature in many modern and luxury homes, and opening up the kitchen will allow you to add more to your kitchen.

Now, you cannot just go around knocking down walls. You need to check whether the walls are load-bearing or not.

If not, then there will not be a problem in taking them out, but if you take out a load-bearing wall, you will have to add a beam in its place. Once, you have expanded and opened up the kitchen, you are ready to make more upgrades.

Add some elegant countertops:

A great way to upgrade the look and style of your kitchen is to add some amazing countertops. There are many options and colors available for countertops. These days, the most common countertops found in luxury kitchens are either made of marble, granite, or quartz. These are some great options.

You should also consider the color of the countertops. Most designers suggest using neutral colors in the kitchen, so light grey, beige, eggshell, and off white are some good options.

Some elegant counter tops, which are color coordinated with the walls and the cupboards can instantly improve the look of your kitchen, and make it look more classy and extravagant.

Upgrade the drawers and cupboards:

One of the most important elements of the kitchen is cupboards and drawers. You also need to upgrade them, if you want a reliable kitchen.

Add shelves inside the cupboards to maximize storage. Have the contractors built corner cupboards and toe kick drawers to maximize the utilization of space.

Also, the design and color of the drawers also have an important part to play in the look of the kitchen, so design them according to the overall style of the kitchen, and chose the color carefully.

You should also add some open shelves, and put some china and other statement pieces on it for both slant and aesthetic outlook.

Add a center island:

A part of the kitchen design that can be seen in every modern and luxury kitchen is a center island. If you want to have an extravagant kitchen, a center island is a must.

A center island adds a lot of extra workspace in the kitchen, and you should also create some shelves and drawers under it to add more storage as well. Center islands are crucial for creating a flow in the kitchen, and it can make day to day kitchen tasks much easier.

Create a dining area in the kitchen:

Another feature that is essential for a modern kitchen is a small dining area, in the kitchen. The most common method which is used to create a dining area in the kitchen, without using too much space, is adding some stylish bar stools, with the center island.

These stools do not take up too much space and they increase the functionality of the center island.

Add some useful kitchen appliances:

If you are upgrading your kitchen and you want it to be more extravagant, then you will have to add some useful appliances to make the maintenance of the kitchen and the cooking process easier and more exciting.

One of the first things, you should add to the kitchen is a dishwasher. Washing dishes is one of the most unappealing jobs in the kitchen, and having a dishwasher will make it way easier.

You should also invest in some other kitchen appliances like food processors, blenders, an electric grill, a microwave, and a refrigerator. Having all the essential appliances will complete your kitchen.
